NFPA 921 was just revised with the latest scientific findings, court rulings, and technological trends, the 2008 edition of NFPA 921: Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations is the single most important resource for fire investigators. This course will be useful to law enforcement personnel, prosecutors, insurance professionals, private investigators, and fire service professionals, anyone with responsibility for fire or explosion investigations. 

This seminar will focus an overview of 921 and five chapters:

Chapter 5: Basic Fire Science reflects new research and developments in ignition and combustion principles. (Rewritten)

Chapter 6: Fire Patterns clarifies the process investigators should use to identify and recognize fire effects and fire patterns. (Rewritten)

Chapter 25: Motor Vehicle Fires addresses trends in vehicles. This chapter includes electric/hybrid automobiles and their potential for high voltage hazards impacting investigators. (Revised)

Chapter 27: Management of Complex Investigations This Chapter deals with complex incidents of many types. (Rewritten)

Chapter 28: Marine Fire Investigations of fire and explosion investigations involving recreational boats, including safety issues due to environmental contaminants, and protocols for investigators on boats afloat or underwater. (A new chapter)
